The best place to find counselling courses in Ontario is through the College Ccef program.
The university-based counselling and mental health services is a registered charity, with more than 7,000 members, and is dedicated to improving the lives of Ontario students.
The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Graduate Programs (ACGME), and offers up to 20 hours of training every year.
College Csef has also expanded their online counselling program, with a $20,000 grant for new and existing students to help them transition to the program.
“With over 2,000 students enrolled in the program and an increasing number of individuals in our community who need support to navigate the transition, it’s crucial that we keep our graduates informed about how we offer counselling,” said Claire Epp, CEO of the College Cef Program.
“We have a team of people working with students to provide training and support to ensure they are ready for their first year of college.”
As part of the program, students are provided with resources such as case management, peer support and self-help guides.
For students who wish to pursue a career in education, the College CEF is looking for students who are interested in teaching or nursing.
“Our students can be the first to receive training in the CCEf programs curriculum and skills, and we want to ensure that they have the right support to succeed,” said Epp.
The CceF offers a range of courses, from the “basic” to “advanced” level.

“When you go to college, you are looking at a very difficult situation, so the whole idea of having a college counsellor is very appealing,” said Ryan Mardis, who graduated from college this year.
“I have always had a love for it and I would love to see this as a way for the students to have a safe place to learn and get better,” he said.
“You are getting the support of your counsellors, so if something comes up, they are there to help you.”
“The best way to transition into the program is through a counsellorship,” added Ryan.
“It’s a lot of work but it can be very rewarding and it can help a lot with finding your own identity.”
