The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about a counselling service in Kent is the number of people who’ve already been through it and the high-profile success stories.
But there are many more who haven’t, or may not even know about it.
The only registered professional counsellors in Kent are the local professional counselling organisations (MPCs), which are funded by the Crown, but the number is still dwarfed by the number who have already been trained.
“They don’t train people, they don’t get paid and they don’ t do the job,” says Mark Pritchard, a consultant counsellor from North Devon who has been practising in Kent for the last 15 years.
“It’s not the job for the young people that need it.
And the people that are getting it, they’re just not good enough.”
So what can you do to start your own?
Pritborough has a number of tips to help you get started, but one of the most important is getting yourself into contact with the professionals who run the courses.
The key is finding a mentor or coach who knows about your particular needs.
“You have to be honest with yourself,” he says.
“We’ve got the highest number of students in our area that don’t know anyone, so they’re not going to want to work with us, so what do I do?”
A good place to start is the Kent Professional Counselling Network (KPNC), which has a membership of over 30,000.
“If you’re a young person that wants to get in touch with someone and get in contact with a counselling coach, they’ll help you out and help you find a mentor,” says Pritchett.
“There’s a lot of resources out there for people like that.”
The group offers online coaching, which means that you can see what’s out there and find a counselor who’s more than ready to help.
“Our aim is to give you the support you need,” says Karen Jones, CEO of KPNC.
What are some of the best places to start? “
But our main aim is that we’re a good place for you to start and to get you started.”
What are some of the best places to start?
If you’re not sure where to start, there are some good options for those with an interest in going to school or university.
“The most important thing is to make sure you’re ready,” says Jones.
“For those who have gone to university, they should be able to get a degree or a certificate and get into a position where they can support themselves and help other people,” she says.
Pritbeck says that if you’re looking to do some training, then the best place to find the right program is the KPMC, which offers a number or two courses per year.
“In the beginning, the main focus is on getting people through university and getting them into the work that they’re really passionate about,” he explains.
It’s really rewarding, and it’s the only one that really helps them with the self-confidence that comes from having a job.” “
These courses are fantastic for young people.
It’s really rewarding, and it’s the only one that really helps them with the self-confidence that comes from having a job.”
Pritcht says that a lot depends on where you are in your life, but that it’s also important to get out there.
“That’s really important.
The first step is to talk to your friends,” he said.
“Just make sure that you don’t put yourself down, because you know you can do it.”
You can also find information and advice on the KPNC website, which also has links to the national helpline, and some of Pritkinds courses.
“All the courses are free, you can choose to pay if you like,” he added.
“So, if you’ve got a job or want to start up a business, I’d say go for it.”
What about training?
Pritchbeck says it’s important to start with the basics, as you don.
“I’d definitely say the first thing you should do is go to a local professional counselling centre,” he recommends.
He also suggests finding a coach, a mentor, or someone who knows you. “
Once you get a few people in, you might even start to see what the best practices are and where you’re going wrong, which is really important.”
He also suggests finding a coach, a mentor, or someone who knows you.
“Most of the time, they know who you are and what you need, so you can just go for the advice and go from there
